How it works
To obtain an RBQ contractor licence, the company must have one or more respondents qualified in the required areas, usually by passing exams:
- the three management qualification areas generally required for contractor licences: administration (ADM), construction site safety management (GSC) and project and construction site management (GPC);
- and, depending on the subclass applied for, one or more construction work execution exams.
For the 13 subclasses listed in Schedule III, no assessment of competence in the execution of construction work is required. Qualification covers the three management areas, subject to any competencies already recognized and to other eligible qualification routes.
Each path brings together the exam-preparation courses generally required for the subclasses concerned, with a discount and 6 months of access.

The required subclasses depend on the type of work, system and building: check with the RBQ.
How to choose
- Identify the licence subclass(es) your company needs.
- If your subclass is listed in Schedule III, the Specialized Contractor – Management Exams path is sufficient for exam preparation.
- Otherwise, choose the path that includes the preparation course for the execution exam that matches your subclass.
Already passed one or more management exams? Buy the individual courses instead.
